Yuki Maekawa-Ledbetter

Co-Founder, Producer

Yuki is an independent producer based in Brooklyn, New York by way of Sapporo, Japan who has worked on a wide variety of narrative films, music videos, and branded content. She worked as associate producer and post production supervisor for the feature film, Alieu the Dreamer (2019), for BET Films and Paramount Pictures. She was also a producer for The Black Disquisition (2021), an animated experimental short film that has screened in over 20 domestic and international festivals, winning two awards for Best Narrative Short Film, one for Best Director, and has exhibited in Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, WA as well as several museums and art centers in North Dakota.

Her dedication extends beyond the screens, actively advocating an inclusive community by collaborating with diverse groups, a testament to her mission of portraying the world authentically, both on and off-camera.

Above all, she enjoys working behind the scenes with storytellers, making lists, checking boxes, being on set with backup plans, and seeing people’s wildest dreams come to life.

Quincy Ledbetter

Co-Founder, Filmmaker, Musician, Artist

Quincy Ledbetter is a filmmaker and artist based in Brooklyn, NY by way of Woodbridge, VA. He specializes in directing and writing narrative films and television. His resourcefulness in crafting innovative stories have led audiences to describe his work as unlike anything they’ve seen before.

Quincy wrote, directed, and composed the score for his feature film debut, ALIEU THE DREAMER, released in 2020 through BET Films and Paramount Players. His follow-up, THE BLACK DISQUISITION, a rotoscope-animated short, won numerous accolades, including Best Animated Film and Best Director. The film was exhibited at several museums, including the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, and was distributed by Black Public Media. His latest film, BRAND NEW, has screened at multiple Academy-qualifying film festivals, including HollyShorts, Urbanworld, and the Austin Film Festival. Among numerous nominations, the film won the Audience Award for International Narrative Short at the ShortShorts Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan. Quincy has also excelled as a documentary filmmaker for esteemed organizations such NPR, Time, Vox Media, and the New York Times, among others.

In 2024, Quincy was honored with an induction into the DGA’s Director Development Initiative Mentorship Program, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of television directors.
